Made by the Creo company (in a triangular cartouche above the keyhole, andunder neath USA), a figural lock, and as Mark Parker describes it in May 1998 issue of Western and Eastern Treasures p.10, ...ornately embossed padlock, now known as "story locks." Military service medal (Indian Wars) bearing the motiffs of all branch insignias ( infantry, cavalry, artillery, engineers, and navy). Not sure what it is, but was found at a western fort ca. 1870's - 1890's. The patina is a variation of green and brown, making it a beautiful specimen. There are no markings on the back, and the suspension hanger on the front has been broken off. |
